Bahia Verde

Open dumps are still a reality in many regions of the state of Bahia, representing a serious threat to public health and the environment.

Bahia Verde is a company licensed by Lixo Verde®, to manage waste projects in the state of Bahia and close landfills. Its main purpose is the positive environmental and social impact, through the extinction of landfills in the municipalities of Bahia, the recovery of degraded areas due to inadequate waste disposal, the generation of new jobs and the stimulation of population and local economies.

Xô Lixão (Shoo Trash)

O Projeto XÔ LIXÃO é pioneiro no Brasil, uma solução ecoeficiente para a destinação e tratamento de Resíduo Sólido Urbano (RSU), pautada em propósitos ambiental e social. XÔ LIXÃO chegou para acabar com os lixões do Brasil! 

Xô Lixão oferece uma gestão inovadora de resíduos sólidos, transformando o rejeito do lixo em combustíveis e energia renováveis. Nossa missão é a extinção de lixões e a recuperação das áreas degradas, por meio de técnicas de manejo florestal e limpeza orgânica das águas do subsolo. 

Learn about the project’s environmental initiatives: 

Viveiro: Plantio de mudas nativas do bioma local, utilizadas para promover a recuperação do meio ambiente. 

Agrofloresta: Técnicas de manejo agroflorestal aplicadas para a recuperação das áreas degradadas. 

Compostagem: Resíduos orgânicos transformados em bioadubo, destinados ao reflorestamento das áreas atingidas pelos lixões. 

Piscinas de Fitorremediação: Técnica desenvolvida pela Lixo Verde® para a recuperação do lençol freático contaminado pelo chorume. 

XÔ LIXÃO destaca o cuidado e o comprometimento da Lixo Verde® com as pessoas. Ações sociais são promovidas, visando fomentar a educação ambiental, eventos e oficinas, que incrementam a economia local e geram a abertura de novas frentes de trabalho na região.

Environmental Projects

Lixo Verde® is committed to preserving nature and promoting environmental sustainability. Driven by the love of Green, we create and implement projects that aim to recover areas degraded by incorrect waste disposal, decontamination of the water table and restoration of fauna and flora in areas affected by open dumps. 

The widespread presence of landfills is still a reality in our country, which substantially contributes to the inadequate disposal of waste, resulting in the pollution of rivers, mangroves, beaches and green areas essential for preserving environmental balance.  

The project XÔ LIXÃO was created by Lixo Verde® to change this reality, closing landfills, taking advantage of the wealth of waste and returning life the nature. Learn about the project's environmental actions here: 

  • Composting – Organic waste separated from urban waste is transformed into biofertilizer, destined for the recovery of the degraded area . 
  • Nursery – Planting of native seedlings from the local biome, nourished with compost biofertilizer, to promote the recovery of soil from the landfill. 
  • Agroforestry – Agroforestry management techniques, aligned with techniques for the spontaneous regeneration of nature, applied to the recovery of degraded areas. 
  • Phytoremediation Pools – Technique developed by Lixo Verde® for the recovery of groundwater contaminated by leachate. 

 

We believe in the magic of transformation, converting waste from open dumps into opportunities for environmental preservation and decarbonization of the economy. 

Lixo no Lixo (Trash in the Trash)

#lixonolixo arrived to raise awareness!

Lixo no Lixo is an environmental education action, promoted by the Instituto Lixo Verde, in order to raise awareness among the population and promote the proper disposal of waste.

The place for garbage is not in nature, on beaches, in the oceans, in rivers, in green areas, on the side of the road, in city flowerbeds. The place for trash is in the trash!

Lixo Verde® believes that true transformation is in our daily lives, in our daily choices, in small actions that generate big impacts. Therefore, we encourage good practices such as Lixo no Lixo, and based on them, we promote environmental education and awareness actions, to be incorporated by each one of us.

For Lixo Verde®, garbage is not a villain, it is a source of wealth and raw material for our plants. Trash is a source of renewable energy!
